I ran across a LIMS market report that you can purchase at:  United States LIMS Industry 2015 Market Research Report by ReportBazzar

I don't know anything about this company, nothing about how accurate their reports are, nothing at all - it's just a link I ran across that I'm passing along. Considering that reports like this cost several thousands of dollars, most of us won't be buying it, but for those of you who might, a select few, I just wanted to share it.

    These reports are created for vc and private equity investors. I get calls literally every month from investors. I cannot vouch for these reports and none of the main LIMS vendors need these reports to tell us what we already know. Further, many of us do not participate in these so called studies. The reports appeal to the investor types looking to get into this market. I have yet to meet a client who has purchased one of these reports.

    I have reviewed a few of these reports in years past for clients. Not the report mentioned here. I found little useful information for user organizations. Some are pretty comprehensive, providing a pretty good look at the competitive environment. My client was interested in the market stability of their proposed solution vendor. The reports I looked at did not forecast the major changes in the LIMS market that occurred shortly thereafter. Vendors would be crazy to divulge that type of information to a market report.

    Terry, that has been my thought as well. The researchers for these reports try to ask me very confidential types of questions about the company and this causes me to clam up entirely.
